New Zealand has a small number of ex-libris collectors, most of whom seem to live in the greater Auckland region. Amongst them two people stand out for their contribution to recording and preserving the history of the art of the bookplate in New Zealand.

Margaret Harper, at the Aotearoa New Zealand Centre of the Christchurch City Libraries, has compiled a comprehensive directory of Christchurch’s street and place names. The directory is a great resource for identifying addresses and locations found on handwritten and personal ephemera.
